Parents with special needs children transitioning to adulthood. Do you worry about their future?

Parents with special needs children transitioning to adulthood.

Do you worry about the future of your special needs child/children and how him/her will survive as an adult? If you are? You are not alone. According to Nicholas et al, 2019, young adults with special needs are less likely to be self sufficient and be employed after graduation from high school. Due to reported statistics, I strongly believe that schools that accommodate children with special needs, should offer a Home Economics curriculum, where learning is geared towards daily living skills. This can allow more independence once these individuals become adults.
